Foxfield Primary School

DSP Leader

Foxfield is a welcoming three-form-entry primary school amongst a diverse and thriving community. We pride ourselves on developing curious learners, who engage readily with their learning, consistently demonstrate our values and want to do their very best. Excellent practices and systems in our school, support all children to be successful and confident. Foxfield is a truly remarkable place to learn, and also to work.

We are commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to provide a specialist provision within our school for children with a diagnosis of ASD. This is a small class of up to 10 pupils who require additional support with accessing learning in school and to develop the range of personal, social and emotional skills needed to be successful in life. We are now seeking an experienced teacher or leader, passionate about supporting children with SEND, to lead our DSP.

We are looking for someone who is capable of initiating and developing effective strategies which enable our SEND pupils to achieve their very best and who is committed and passionate about their own professional and leadership development. This role offers a fantastic career opportunity for the successful candidate to take a lead in shaping the strategic vision and direction not only for the DSP but in working with the SENDCo to shape SEND across the school. The role also includes managing the team of HLTAs and TAs who work in the DSP and guiding their development and progression.

In return, you will be joining a strong and supportive team of staff within an outstanding school that is committed to providing the best possible learning opportunities for its children and staff. The DSP leader role is an integral part of the Inclusion team. We have strong networks including a SEND hub across the schools of the Inspire Partnership Academy Trust.

You will work very closely with the school SENDCo and inclusion team, however we would also welcome applications from staff with the SENDCo qualification who wish to use their knowledge and skills to support children directly. Alternatively, for the right candidate, we would support staff with completing the NASENCO award and building towards future career goals as a SENDCo.

We have very high expectations of all staff and children and would expect the successful candidate to share in our vision and belief that success comes from developing a growth mindset which values effort and believes that anything is possible for all our students and staff.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner, who is committed to providing the highest standards of provision for SEND pupils within the DSP
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional growth
  • Embrace opportunities for research and development
  • Be passionate about sharing best practice with colleagues across the school and wider Trust.

We would strongly recommend that you arrange a visit to see our wonderful school and meet our delightful children. Alternatively you can contact the Co-Headteachers via headteacher@inspirefoxfield.co.uk or by phoning the school on 0203 260 7500. We look forward to hearing from you.
