Foxfield Primary School

Helping your child

At Foxfield School, we know that parents are children’s first educators and we value being partners with them in their child’s education.

We ensure that parents are fully involved in their child’s education by:

  • Regularly sharing children’s ‘Learning Journeys’ with parents and valuing the ongoing
  • contributions to this from parents/carers
  • Giving parents/carers the opportunity to take part in their child's education and share their
  • interests and expertise
  • Delivering workshops to share our practice, ethos and ideas with parents/carers e.g.
  • Phonics demonstrations and Early Readers workshops
  • Promoting a love of reading for parents/carers to read with their child
  • Opportunities for parents/carers to participate in learning through celebrations

Home Learning

Homework develops study habits and independent learning. It also encourages learners to acquire resources such as dictionaries and grammar reference books. Research shows that homework also benefits factual knowledge, self-discipline, attitudes to learning and problem- solving skills.

Our homework project packs are shared at the beginning of each half term and carefully planned to support the learning in school. The activities are designed to reinforce skills and knowledge taught at school, while motivating pupils to embark on independent creative projects. We also send out weekly spellings and expect the children to read each evening. Your child will also have log ins to various platforms eg: Spag.com and Timestable Rockstars. If you require any log ins, please speak with your child’s class teacher.
