Junior Leadership Team
This year Foxfield Primary School are continuing to develop or Junior Leadership Team. The Junior Leadership Team will focus on improving both our school and the local community. The JLT subject leaders will be working with our subject leaders to improve the quality of teaching and learning in all subjects.
There are two targets that we hope to achieve this year. The first is to gain the Bronze for the Anti-Bullying Quality Mark, where the JLT will work closely with members of the Pupil Leadership Team, SLT and the behaviour team to ensure that Foxfield is a safe place to learn. As well as this, we will be assisting the lunch company to change our weekly school dinner menus to meals that will be more popular with the children. Our aim this year is to ensure that the voices of our children are heard and opt to find solutions to any problems.
The introduction of our JLT Subject Leaders is an exciting prospect. Children from year 6 have applied to support teachers who are subject leaders. To give children leadership opportunities, the JLT subject leaders will be involved in book looks and learning walks to give the teacher the point of view of the children with what they look for.
The aim of both JLT teams is to enable children the chance to have leadership within the school, ensuring that their voices and opinions are heard. We are a pupil lead school, regularly receiving pupil voice to make improvements. Therefore we are given the children the opportunity to assist with those improvements along the journey.
“I’m really excited to be part of the JLT Subject Leadership Team as I feel I could really help the teacher improve my given subject.”
“With this opportunity, I look forward to telling the teacher my ideas about the subject that would make it more appealing to pupils.”
