Whoever you are?

Who are you

It’s been such an exciting start to the year in the Foundation Stage at Foxfield! In reception, we have been introduced to our new topic: “Whoever you are”. Our global theme for learning is Identity and diversity, so we have been celebrating all the different cultures, faiths, traditions and languages of the children in each class.

We have learnt how to say hello in different labgauges, and now answer the register in Neplases, Pujabi and Russian to name a few.

EYFS2

We’ve been working hard on our phonics both inside and outside and we are starting to use our knowledge of sounds to write simple words to label pictures.

We have tried different foods from different countries and voted on our favorite. In walnut class the children loved the sweet and sour noodles.

EYFS1

We have been exploring and using Numicon to support our understanding of number and quantity. Children have also been playing games such as estimating the number objects to deepen their knowledge and application of quantity.

EYFS3 EYFS4

In expressive arts and design we have extended our learning about ourselves and where we live by exploring the artist Paul Klee’s, and painting, printing, and collaging shapes to represent our home. Come and take a look at our final display after half term.
